Sleep Psychologist

The Practice

Stephanie Silberman, Ph.D., D, ABSM
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Diplomate, American Board of Sleep Medicine

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who is Board Certified in Sleep Medicine (American Board of Sleep Medicine).

I am a graduate of the University of Michigan (B.A.) and Fairleigh Dickinson University (Ph.D.).

During graduate training, I worked at Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City.

I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Sleep Disorders Institute of St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City.

My areas of specialty include the treatment of depression, anxiety, insomnia, and other sleep disorders.

I also do psychological and neuropsychological testing for a variety of purposes, such as dementia screenings.

I am bilingual (Spanish/English), so I conduct treatment in whichever language the patient prefers.

I have extensive experience working with persons with chronic medical illnesses, such as HIV, sleep apnea, heart disease, cancer, obesity, and other diseases.

The first office appointment involves an initial consultation to determine the needs and goals of treatment.

Treatment ranges from short-term (4-6 weeks) to more intensive, long-term therapy.

Length of treatment depends on severity of psychological and/or sleep disordered symptoms and the goals of treatment.

For a more detailed description of my experience, please view my curriculum vitae.
